March Movie Madness
Sports fans know that March means Madness. It means Basketball and busted brackets.
Well, we didn't want movie fans to be left out, so we created the Ultimate Flicks With Friends MOVIE Madness Tournament! We created regions for different genres then seeded them with the best, most iconic films of that type, then pitted them against each other and YOU will select the winners! We'd like to see this really be the better films that win versus a popularity contest, but we have no way of policing that, so it will be what it will be.
Head over to our Facebook or Twitter pages to vote in 2024's tourney, and check back often, as there will be MULTIPLE posts per day in order to get through all the films in the tournament. In the event of a tie, the film with the higher seed will take the victory and advance, and just like games can be decided by the officials, we reserve the right to step in and settle disputes if needed!

The Ultimate Flicks With Friends MOVIE Madness Tournament 2: Electric Boogaloo! comes to a close with a surprising Final Four we can honestly say we never saw coming.

Final Four voting still managed to surprise us.
#1. Star Wars #6. Tombstone The last charge of Wyatt Earp and his immortals ended a little prematurely against the juggernaut of the Empire. Winner: Star Wars #7. Ghost #10. Evil Dead 2 In the battle of spirits vs demons, it was the army of darkness that came out on top, once again surprising everyone with their tenacity. Winner (UPSET): Evil Dead 2 This brings us to the finale, with a behemoth juggernaut on one side and a scrappy underdog on the other for all the marbles for this year. #1. Star Wars #10. Evil Dead 2 And the overall WINNER of our second March Movie Madness Tournament out of the SCIENCE FICTION bracket, a #1 seed, George Lucas' 1977 (& 1997) Masterpiece... It was never really close as the awesome run of Ash and the Deadites finally ran out of steam against arguably one of everybody's favorite films. (We were kinda rooting for Evil Dead 2 just so we could say, "Hail to the King, baby.") Instead, we'll sign off with "the Force will be with you, always." |

Final Four voting was rather anti-climatic after all the hand-wringing that went on in the rounds previously.
#2. The Princess Bride #5. Raiders of the Lost Ark The fairy tale ends for The Princess Bride as the man in the hat advances to the final. WINNER: Raiders of the Lost Ark #3. Ghostbusters #7. Pulp Fiction Better lay off those $5 milkshakes to get in better shape for next year, as the Ghostbusters are at it again. WINNER: Ghostbusters This sets up the final for all the marbles! #3 Ghostbusters #5 Raiders of the Lost Ark And the overall WINNER of our first March Movie Madness Tournament out of the ACTION bracket, a #5 seed, Steven Spielberg's 1981 Masterpiece... It was close at first with back and forth voting, but Indy pulled away in the stretch. |
